Following a mention in our village "Barnby News" published in December 2007, our arrival in the area was also reported in the nearby "Balderton Parish News", in turn this led to the article by Paul Ainsworth in the popular local newspaper "The Newark Advertiser" and also "The Southwell Advertiser". The excellent photo' was taken by Marie Wilson.

BBC TV 'Look North', May 10th 2006.
Anna Crossley recording llama behaviour

Anna Crossley, of the BBC's 'Look North' regional news team, wanted to know how many overseas tourists visit us. Our answer is less than a few years ago because this beautiful coastal area is not adequately publicised.
Our llamas enjoying the lush spring growth of hawthorn whilst Bruce is interviewed. Never mind the camera, the llamas enjoying a tastey snack

THE UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS

November 12th. 2005 A group from the University of Leeds, studying Broadcast Journalism had been given a research project on exotic animals in Yorkshire. To complete their project they intend to produce a short film about our business.

A HELPING HAND FOR THE NATIONAL TRUST AT ROSEBERRY TOPPING
Our llama

We offered the National Trust a helping hand by using our pack llamas to carry materials for repairing a dry stone wall up a steep hill. Here Carlos is being loaded with stone.
In the foreground BBC TV videos the stones being unloaded on Little Topping - in the background you can see Roseberry Topping. The BBC getting up close to llamas with the camera
Llamas carefully wending their way downhill

On another bitterly cold day, the National Trust volunteers leading our llamas downhill to collect another load of stone. This photograph does not show how steep the track is, in some parts it is so steep that steps have been cut into the hill side.

2004 ~ CELEBRATING OUR TENTH YEAR OF LLAMA TREKKING
We went back where it all began in as a farm diversification in "THE BRECKS" an area about 30 miles wide that spans the borders of NORFOLK & SUFFOLK.

After a period of training, we began trekking with the public in Thetford Forest in April 1994. We moved to Yorkshire in the autumn of 1996.

To celebrate and also acknowledge the cooperation of Forestry Enterprise in those early days, we returned to trek for three days in Thetford Forest.

April 16th 2004. "Heathland in the Brecks" with Neil Jarvis of English Nature.
A glorious spring day Gareth Mead of BBC Radio Norfolk and Anthony Carroll of Bury Free Press joined the trek.

A break in the llama trek at Thetford Warren Lodge

April 17th 2004. Tiffin Trek with a theme on Medieval rabbit warrens. Another sunny, warm spring day. The photo shows our Trekkers looking at the 15th Century Thetford Warren Lodge. Built by the Prior of Thetford so that his head Warrener could protect his valuable rabbits.
April 18th 2004. "Forestry Today" with David Hooton. A damp day but we still had an interesting trek.
Mike Bennett from Anglia Television recorded the start of our trek, we understand this was broadcast on the 18th and slightly differently on April 19th.
Another break in the llama trek to discuss the huge rise in the deer population in Thetford Forest
2008 trekking in Nottinghamshire

2007 We spent many months, without trekking, until we found a suitable property, then we had to alter it to suit our business and our own preferences.

1997 to 2006 we trekked on the North York Moors and Yorkshire's Heritage Coast.
Our Special Interest Treks in this area were ~ Smuggling in and around Robin Hood's Bay with a retired Customs & Excise Officer ~ Roaming with a Ranger with a National Park Ranger and finding fascinating hidden places ~ Dinosaur Treks with a geologist looking at all the rocks and fossils along the Dinosaur Coast ~ Curiosites on the Moors with the maker of videos about the Moors history ~ our llamas worked with The National Trust at Roseberry Topping, transporting dry stone walling materials on other occasions their Warden was a great guide for treks when he described its amazing history.

1994, 1995 and 1996 We trekked in Thetford Forest in Norfolk and Suffolk.
We created our first two Special Interest Treks ~ firstly, a Forest Ranger joined us and customers learnt more about Forestry and wildlife ~ we also trekked with a splendid archaeologist discovering numerous fascinating sites in the Brecks, ranging from the Stone Age all the way to World War 2.
